Ribbon Trees - Aren't they great?

For this project you need a styrofoam cone, lots of tiny pins, a few rolls of the same ribbon for your base and then various other trims.  Cut several pieces of about 1 1/2" ribbon and fold in half and attach with pin for each layer starting at the bottom.  If you like, feel free to place a piece of ribbon going around the styro first so none shows through when placing your ribbon layers around the piece.  Break up the layers by adding various trims around the styro and then begin your ribbon layers again.  Once you get to the top, add ribbon over the top that overhangs and pin in place.  If you like add a star or other embellishment.  On mine I used a Prima star and a metal star wand from JoAnn.  One tree is a combination of felt ribbon and Carolee's music ribbon, the other tree is mostly all Prima ribbons and trims.  Have fun.

Prima Mini Calendar

This is very easy.  All you need are 2 sets of 3 graduated circles, a calendar printed out that is cut in circles to your second largest size, approx 10 1" circles, ribbon and a couple prima flowers and leaves if you like.
Use the Tim Holtz distress tool to distress edges of the circles and sander to distress edges of the 1" circles.  Apply stardust stickles to the distressed edges of the 3 circles x 2 sets.  Punch hole through the cover, back and all calendar pages where you see the ribbon on mine.  Use brad to attach with brad ends coming through the front and cover with a tied ribbon.  To the bottom I attached a Prima flower and rose that I added stardust stickles to and then added a couple glitter leaves off a Christmas pick from Michaels.  Very easy project.

Pink Paislee Ornament Gift Box

I've been playing making gift boxes and gifts for the holiday.  This gift box is covered with Pink Paislee Mistletoe and Co papers.  Edges have been distressed with the Tim Holtz distress tool and then stardust stickles applied to the distressed edges.  I also used Prima's brick background stamp and heat embossed in black on a few extra strips of paper which I tore and also distressed edges and applied stickles.  These give the effect of exposed brick.  Around the edges of the box top I applied a felt scallop trim, glued around the edges and applied the Melissa Frances mica flakes in white.

The second box I also decorated with Pink Paislee Mistletoe and Co papers same as above but added various other embellishments to the top of the box as well as rubons Dear Santa to the side of the box.
The box is packaging from a Cricut cartridge.  Inside the box I adhered felt to the bottom and used an empty Pink Paislee glitter container to hold a piece of rolled paper and then decorated the container as well.

Christmas Cards Are Ready

Here is this years Christmas cards and I love how these turned out.
Make sure you click on the picture to really see the detail of this one.

Supplies:  Pink Paislee Tinsel Town, Imaginisce and K&Co Rubons, Ranger Stickles; star dust, silver, frosted lace, WeR glitter brad, Tim Holtz distresser tool and I Top Brad Maker and 16mm brad.

You will need 5 graduated circles from 3" down to 1".  If using the Creative Memories circle cutter system it would be as follows...

  • 1" using small inner circle with green blade

  • 1.5" using small inner circle with red blade

  • 2" using medium inner circle with blue blade

  • 2.5" using medium inner circle with red blade

  • 3" using large inner circle with blue blade

For the card that is attached to the back side you need to fold your paper in half and use the outside of the small circle with the red blade.  Place the circle on the fold and cut the circle leaving a small portion of the fold intact for the top of the card.

Distress around all circles and cutouts from the paper.  Layer circles and punch small hole in the center of them all.  Arrange your cutouts where they look good to you and adhere with small amount of glue.  Punch hole in top for hanging and place a small piece of ribbon behind and pierce a hole.  Place brad through the hole and the ribbon.  Before closing brad, make sure to wrap your string for hanging first then close brad.  Use the stickles to apply over the distressed edges and also to make dots to finish the card off.

Whalla!  Easy Peasy.  :)
